Families and groups of all ages will find tons of fun and worthwhile attractions in the Silver Lake Sand Dunes area.
Of course, on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, there’s always plenty to do!
For starters, you might hike out as far as you’d like to go to take in the gorgeous views — just remember you have to walk back too! Within the state park, there is a section only for pedestrians that is great for walkers and hikers. In a separate section, only for motorized vehicles, you can also rent an ORV or take your own wheels out for a spin.
If you’ve never been out on the dunes in a vehicle before, you might try a tour first. Ideal for families with children, the legendary Mac Wood’s Dune Rides takes visitors out on a 40-minute ride in a large tour buggy designed specifically for dune-going.
Silver Lake is not only home to the silver sands of the world-famous Silver Lake Dunes. Visitors can also enjoy water sports, horseback riding, bike trails, petting zoos, waterparks, historic sites, farm tours, and much more!
Below is a list of some of our most popular attractions in the area. For more information, check out Think Dunes, the website for the Silver Lake Sand Dunes Area Chamber & Visitor Bureau.
